As a painter, my goal is to produce art that exhilarates. I want to reach people with color and vibrancy. Born in Mexico City and raised near the beach in Cancun, my Mexican identity is essential to my art. It informs my worldview and is the keepsake of traditions and memories that I cherish. It expresses itself in my art again and again. Over the years, my style has evolved from a tendency toward realism to tapping into the outer realms of my imagination. My most recent collections include experimentation in geometric abstraction and a return to paintings that are highly detailed and recall a sense of place. Joy, however, is always the underlying theme.
My professional background is in Graphic Design and I was trained in Guadalajara, Mexico. I exhibit in dozens of shows across the US all year long and have found both professional and personal satisfaction from producing and sharing my work with people from all walks of life. I couldn't ask for a better career. I attribute my success to genuine passion and the tireless pursuit of excellence. Outside of my studio, I use the world as my classroom. My extensive international travel allows me to experience art from every continent - from Tokyo to Paris to Capetown to Sydney and beyond - and ensures that I am always learning and growing as an artist and as a human being.
